After great success of Asus Zenfone 3 Max series Asus has lined up another of it's device termed as Asus Zenfone 3S Max. As we have seen Zenfone Max series as per name suggest know for long battery life. This device seems to be much promising. Since we have chance to use it for sometime we are sharing our reviews for this device here.

This device is also follows the same design pattern as their predecessor followed but there are some changes this time. We discuss each aspect as one by one:




Asus Zenfone 3S Max

Zenfone 3S Max Design:

Zenfone 3S Max has visual stunning design same followed by Zenfone 3 Max. Device is made of full metallic body with 2.5D contoured Glass. The variant we received is of Golden colour. Front side of the device have 8MP front selfies shooter with light ambient sensor, and Asus logo placed in the center. Below that we have 5.2 inches screen and at the bottom of the device we have fingerprint sensor. This is the major change that Asus has incorporated in Asus Zenfone 3S Max. Besides, we used to have capacitive buttons blow the screen this time Asus has shifted these buttons as On Screen buttons.

On the other hand, we have 13MP shooter at the upper left corner of backside of the device and Asus logo in upper middle part of the device. Well this is the another change since Asus usually keep camera in middle and FPS sensor blow it. On the left of the device there is Hybrid SIM tray, while on right side of the device, we have Volume rocker button and power button. At the top of the device we have 3.5 mm audio jack and at the very bottom of the device we have one mic and speaker and Micro USB charging port.

Specification And Performance:

Asus Zenfone 3S Max have 5.2 inches HD display producing vivid and crisp display on the device. Zenfone 3S Max support hybrid SIM with 4G VoLET supported on both the SIM slot. So Jio users can use SIM card in any of the SIM If you use memory card you can expand external storage upto 2 TB. Zenfone 3S Max comes with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Zenfone 3S Max equipped with latest version Android 7 that is Nougat running Asus customized ZenUI 3 on top of it. We have also got the new Android 7 feature of multi window and lot many changes in UI in this device. You can now see bundled notification from same app. Beside you can directly answer the messages from notification itself and lot more feature incorporated in Android 7.

Multi Window Feature

We were expecting this device will be equipped with some good SOC like Snapdragon 615 or 625 but it actually packed with Mediatek MT6755 or MTK7650 with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. This same combination we have already seen in Asus Zenfone 3 Max comparison with Oppo F1S. Even this Mediatek processor is equivalent to entry level SOC of Snapdragon 430. Light games runs smoothly where games like Morden Combat and Asphalt struggles a little bit. The good thing is even after heavy gaming device get little worm rather not heatup issue at all. Asus Zenfone 3S Max will be available in Black and gold. This device also support reverse charging, so it can act as your secondary power bank in case you are running out of juice in some other device.

Fingerprint sensor this time is excellent and very quick. fingerprint sensor here also used as app minimize button. So while device is unlocked it can be used as minimize the app running at time. On connectivity end device provide Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, 4G with VoLTE on both SIM but no NFC this time.

Camera:

On part of Camera it have 13MP shooter which takes as usual great pictures with good amount of details in it. Read camera is cable of recording HD and Full HD video flawlessly. 8MP selfie shooter produce good detailed images but suffer somehow in low and artificial light. Battery:

As Asus always promise they provide 5000mAh battery inside which is non removable. Battery makes device bit heavy but feel sturdy in the hand. But it take long time to charge the battery since Asus is still providing Micro USB charging slot rather than type C. This is little disappointed from Asus.

Price And Availability:

As of for now price at 14,999/-INR. It seems this device is one of the best buy for the this range. This device will be available across all retail outlet and E-commerce platform.

Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) VS Oppo F1S : Which One To Select ?

Here we are going to compare two smartphone which share equal price and specs but are from different manufacturers. One is from Asus and another is form Oppo. We are here making comparison between Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) and Oppo F1S. At the end you will get clear idea which one is better.

We are comparing both of this devise on the ground of various factors like Performance, Design, Camera, Battery and so on. So let’s start:

Design And Display:

As per the build quality both devices are attractive and look is the first factor that can catch your attention. Oppo F1S more or less resemble to iPhone in look and feel. But on the other hand Zenfone 3 Max have its unique design pattern with metallic unibody. In my personal opinion Asus Zenfone 3 Max have better design then Oppo F1S. But OPPO F1s comes with corning gorilla glass 4 protection while Zenfone 3 Max only have an Oleophobic coating over the screen which prevent the screen from smudges.

Well if we talk about display its clear Zenfone 3 Max wins. Both devices have 5.5 inches IPS LCD panel integrated but Oppo F1S have HD Display (720p) while Zenfone 3 Max have Full HD (1080p) display panel. Hence Zenfone 3 Max provide excellent vivid colourful and crisp display then Oppo F1S.

Asus Zenfone 3 Max

In terms of performance Zenfone 3 Max and Oppo F1S are equipped with Octa-core processor where clocked at 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz. Zenfone 3 Max comes with Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 with Adreno 505 graphical unit. On the other hand Oppo F1S comes with Mediatek MT6755 or MTK7650 with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. Both of this processors are equal in performance but Snapdragon have advantage over Mediatek processor. During our review we have observed that Oppo F1S drain battery faster than Zenfone 3 Max, since its hardware take up much of its battery juice.

Both device have 3GB RAM memory and 32GB internal memory but when we compare them for multitasking both perform equally well. But while gaming part Zenfone 3 Max perform bit better than Oppo F1S. While we talking about memory management both device provide user with almost 1.5+ GB free RAM memory. But in case of Oppo F1S when you open apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, YouTube and so on, even optimization will not clear out much of a free space for you. You have to optimize it every now and then. While memory management in Asus Zenfone Max is much better than Oppo F1s.

When we talk about Operating system Oppo F1S has already lost here. Since Oppo F1S is still running on Android 5.1 which is Lollipop while Asus Zenfone 3 Max runs on Android 6.0.1 which is Marshmallow.

Connectivity:

In terms of connectivity both devices offer all connectivity option except that of NFC. While talking about 4G and VOLT both device support them well. There is only one major difference in this area where Zenfone 3 Max have Hybrid SIM mechanism (One SIM + Memory Card OR Dual SIM) while Oppo F1S have advantage here since Oppo offer 2 Nano SIM slots along with Memory card slot.

Camera:

In terms of camera Zenfone 3 Max and Oppo have 13 MP and 16MP rear camera whereas in section of front camera Oppo have 16MP and Asus provide 8MP wide angle camera. In terms of front camera Oppo have excellent camera performance but somewhere images get overexposed in artificial light. Even though it have 16MP camera but level of details that user must get are lacking. While Asus perform average in terms of front camera it also suffer in artificial and low light conditions. But level of detailing in 8 MP Asus does a great job.

While we talk about back\rear camera Asus perform excellent. In terms of quality both perform excellent in outdoor conditions. But when we talk about indoor or low light condition Asus surpass the Oppo in every way. So here overall performance Asus is better.

Battery:

Oppo F1S comes with 3075mAh battery whereas Asus Zenfone 3 Max equipped with 4100mAh battery life. But as compared to Asus Oppo drains battery very fast. Even when device is ideal it consume lot of battery juice. Still Oppo last 20-22 hours. While Asus have huge battery life still it perform good even with heavy usage battery last longer than a day. So here Asus Zenfone 3 Max wins directly.

Pricing:

Oppo F1S (32GB +3GB RAM) priced at 16990 INR whereas Asus Zenfone 3 Max (32GB +3GB RAM) is also priced at 16999 INR. So they are pertaining to almost same price tag.

Final Words:

Well based on our reviews if you want good phone with long battery life Asus Zenfone 3 Max must be your choice. While if you are obsessed with Selfies and not much concern with battery life then Oppo must be your choice. So basically your requirement decide the smartphone you buy. But in my personal opinion Zenfone 3 Max is best buy for money.

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser Excellent Camera Device

Zenfone 3 Laser is another model in Zenfone 3 premium series that incorporate the design and style that is the first major factor noticed by everyone. Asus has made it clear they no more want to compete in the budget market where competition has increased lately. Asus now want to make their own unique goodwill brand like one Apple, Samsung and LG. 

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser Design:

As maintain in all Zenfone 3 devices Asus Zenfone 3 Laser also incorporate metallic unibody design with 2.5D Cornering Gorilla Glass for screen protection. Device is very slim and light weight, even though laser is equipped with 5.5 inches FULL HD IPS LCD panel still it fits in one hand. Device have 77 percent screen to body ratio. Front camera is placed just above the screen and three capacitive non-backlit button are placed at the bottom of the device. The specs and device are much more similar to Asus Zenfone 3 Max we reviewed earlier.

The rear part of the device is made of metal unlike Asus Zenfone 3 which equipped with glass material back. Rear of the device contain camera and laser sensor along with Dual LED flash light. Just below the camera module device have Fingerprint sensor for authentication. While you can see Asus brand logo at the bottom. In the lower bottom of the device it have Micro USB charging port with mic and speakers placed beside. 

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser specification And Software:

Asus Zenfone 3 Laser powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 which is entry level processor also used in Asus Zenfone 3 Max clocked at 1.4 GHz along with Adreno 505 GPU. Asus Zenfone 3 Laser runs Android 6.0 that is Marshmallow having Zen UI 3.0 skin on top of that. Zenfone 3 laser also equipped with 4GB RAM with 32 GB internal memory also you can expand the memory up to 128GB. But this device has hybrid SIM card slot which support 4G LTE networks. You can use one Micro and One neno SIM with this device.

On connectivity part this Asus device provide Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G connectivity along with GPS/A-GPS and Wi-Fi direct. This device is being sacrificed on the battery part. Since Asus Zenfone 3 Laser inherited configuration from Asus Zenfone 3 Max. This device integrated with 3000mAh battery that last for entire day for heavy and moderate usage.

Camera:

Camera is the best improvement we have seen in Asus Zenfone 3 series. You can launch camera app from lock screen itself. The camera app is quick and responsive. You can multiple mode like Manual, HDR Pro, Beautification and Super resolution, Low-light, QR Code, Night, Depth of field, Effect, Selfie, GIF animation, Panorama, Miniature, Time rewind, Slow motion, or Time Lapse to choose from. 

One of the most promising features of this phone is its laser autofocus technology which claims to locks focus in just 0.03 seconds. During the review, we found that this feature really worked very fast. The laser autofocus plays a major role when taking close-up shots. Asus Zenfone Camera have capture amazing pictures in well-lit condition but we also impressed with its low light performance. Yes but while Zooming we can see noise and grain in the picture captured.

We tried recording 1080p videos on the Zenfone 3 Laser and the results were great. The electronic image stabilization (EIS) feature came in handy while recording videos, even when our hands weren't steady.

The front camera is also takes good selfies quickly. On opening the front-facing camera, the ZenFone 3 laser. In our opinion, this device is good for everyday pictures.

Pricing :

Pricing is the factor that you consider strongly before buying nay device.  This device is fairly priced but still seems to be overpriced at 16999 INR on Flipkart. But still as compared to Oppo F1S this device perform really well which have almost same processor and specs.

As per our review Asus Zenfone 3 Laser has good capabilities that you can use for day to day usage. With stunning full HD display and IPS LCD it provide good viewing angle.But when it comes to heavy multitasking this phone suffer a little while. But on the other hand it have excellent camera performance with great battery life that last around day or two. The price of the device should have been in 15000 INR that will justify this device.

Once you sync the smartwatch with your smartphone it will automatically pickup the app, that can push the notification on smartphone as well as Zenwatch 2. It will show notification like Weather. Music, Paytm, Hangout, Facebook, Gmail, Outlook,SMS app and so on. 

You can also get preloaded watch faces that allow you to customize the watch information along with displaying time like Steps, Calories burned, Weather information, battery remaining and so on. Some watch have allow only 3 customize addon available in screen while some allow 5. You can download even more form Play Store or create some of your own using Face-Designer. You can set all this faces from your smartphone as well using Zenwatch Manager. You can also click from your smartphone using remote camera. 

Zenwatch 2 also help you to keep yourself feet by providing Asus Zenfit app. That will show you calories burnt and steps count. Just lack of heart rate sensor. But step counter is very accurate on this smartwatch. 

You can also do many thing like read notification or messages form WhatsApp, Hangout, Facbook, SMS, even you can read your mail in part and parcel. You can even control your music playback using this smartwatch so if you are in crowded place or train then you can switch the song using Zenwatch 2.

Zenwatch 2 also equipped with magnetic fast charging that allow you to charge it 60% in 30 min of charging. But still it depend on usage of user. Like setting brightness at level 3 will provide nice viewing with conserving battery life. Also how many app on your device are sync for push notification in Zenwatch 2 also decide how much battery will be drained during the day time. Even though you are heavy user battery will last more then a day.

Asus Zenwatch is priced at almost around 10K on Flipkart. Which is quite reasonable. There are some other variants which are available at 14k and 16k price bracket. The device is perfect for the busy person or those who do not like to take out the smartphone from their pocket. Since device provide all updates on screen. It will help you to stay fit by tracking steps and sleep tracking. You need to charge the device once in 2 days. Display is also pleasant and easily visible in direct sunlight.
